The move comes after taxi companies such as Uber and Ola have come under criticism for the lack of security of their passengers. With the number masking feature, drivers would be able to connect with passengers via a call routing feature. This will also help save calling costs for cab drivers. OLA CEO Pranay Jivrajka said that they will be able to monitor driver behavior and conversations at all times for an enhanced user experience. The new OLA platform will also offer live GPA tracking, details of the ride, feedback/reporting during the ride and an in-app SOS button for passenger safety.
